After the first wave of the mortgage crisis that first hit the banking sector, it was clear that the insurance and reinsurance companies will not remain immune. From the perspective of insurance companies crisis has ambiguous effects. Invested funds, although in a less risky financial instruments are exposed to greater risk in the capital market. Another dimension of the crisis that will feel the insurance company is in recession, which has entered the economy through reduction of consumption, the increased cost of risk transfer. Domestic market is poorly integrated into the world market, and thus less subject to tectonic disturbances observed in other financial markets. One of the reasons why the crisis does not threaten the survival of insurance companies so far is a conservative investment policy and regulation. Fundamental principles of business policy of insurance organizations in the coming days should be safety, liquidity, dispersion, and only at the end of profitability.
