Reviewers' responsibilities

Reviewers are required to make a qualified evaluation of scientific, respectively professional value of a manuscript and to send it to the editor in chief within the given deadlines. A reviewer takes a special care of a real contribution and the originality of the manuscript. The review must be completely objective. The reviewers` judgment must be clear and supported by arguments. Reviewers evaluate the manuscripts according to the compatibility of the content with the profile of the magazine, the importance and usefulness of the content, the adequacy of the applied methods, the scientific value of the information contained, the style of presentation and the text equipment. The review has a standard format which covers the evaluations of certain dimensions of the paper, the general evaluation and a final recommendation.

A reviewer mustn`t be in a conflict of interest either with the authors or a research financier. If such a conflict exists, a reviewer is required to timely inform the editor in chief about this. A reviewer does not accept the papers to be reviewed outside the field for which he/she considers him/herself to be completely competent.

Reviewers should warn the editor in chief if they have a reasonable doubt or knowledge about the possible violation of ethical standards done by the author of the manuscript. Also, they have to recognize relevant sources not taken into consideration in the paper. They can recommend citing of certain references, but not to demand quoting the papers published in the magazine "Pravo - teorija i praksa" or their own papers if there is no justification for such a thing. The reviewers are expected to improve the quality of the manuscript by giving certain suggestions. If they judge that the paper deserves to be published with certain corrections, they are required to precise the way in which it can be realized.

The manuscripts sent to a reviewer must be regarded as confidential documents. Reviewers mustn`t use the material from the manuscripts for their own research without the author`s explicit written permission.
